smiling friends
season 2 was a bit of a mixed bag for me, but season 1? oh fucking man. that dinner scene with pim actually makes me fucking cry laughing.
and i want to write about it, i want to praise this show and say exactly what it is that makes it work, but really i don't fucking know. is it the 11 minute length that means they have to pace it immaculately? is it that it knows exactly when to linger on a bit or not to make it the funniest it can be? probably, idk.
the best scenes (like the dinner) balance so many fucking gags going on at once that there's always something i find funny no matter how many times i see them because there's always more detail to laugh at or just appreciate.
highly recommend you go & watch this show if you haven't already. after season 2 i was thinking: "season 3? really? they were kind of running out of ideas..." but season 3's last two have definitely brought it back for me.
and now it's going up to season 5? dude. fuck yes. give me more of zach hadel's beautiful voice, micheal cusack's legendary range with allan & pim, & their amazing writing.
i still think everyone should watch it. even my sibling, who is absolutely terrified of the art style & allan, thinks it is very well made & will occasionally start pitching episode ideas to me.
before i go, i'd also like to quickly draw attention to thecoolautisticgamer and critterclips on yt.
stumbling onto both of these channels on youtube & slowly putting together what's going on was one of the funniest things in my recent memory & i want you to have that experience too.
i don't want to spoil the suprise but these channels are both very clearly by the same people, & the dolly character's conclusion is going to be so fucking hilarious if it goes how i think it will.
go search them up on youtube. i will say no more. thanks for readingbyebye
